Post Trouble in WA
hi all, a copy and paste from a forum in WA, this is really worrying,

"Hi all,
ive just been issued a warning about a man that is raiding prospectors camps with a balaclava and a shotgun,
he has been taking peoples gold and metal detectors,
plus a differant mob have stollen 3 caravans at differant camps hooked up and driven of with in the goldfields, between Laverton and Ora Banda
so please everyone be vigilent and carefull out there in the bush,
take care all"

i hope this is not a sign of things to come in the "economic downturn" and hope that mark and june are safe, regards, gary

Mark and Junes last call to members and friends was that they were having a ball and meeting some fantastic people, know real issues safety wise, Red dust was about it. Mark had found 3 patches and both are around the 260 nugget count.

Should all accounts of this trend be true then it easy to see why prospectors/nomads pose as a easy target. Rob detectorist and the whole lots mobile and worth some big dollars.

Shows how important it is to be in contact with family or friends when your away on a trip. I remember as a kid travelling WA and Australia, safety was about snakes, spiders and mine shaft's not from your fellow human beings....
Regards

A friend of ours recorded the sound of a pump action shotgun being cocked, and then via a cassette recorder remote socket wired it to a microswitch on his camper door handle, as he was sick of people trying to break in while he was in it, out in the bush at night.

Next time the door got tried, and the lock and load 12 guage played back, he said it was hilarious to hear footsteps retreating at a great rate of knots into the bush.

There's certainly something to be said for the American right to bear arms - I'd feel a lot safer out there with a nice shiny Glock sitting on my belt than being a target for armed no-good ratbags.

Regards,
Rob
